CEO Corner

Congratulations to both our 2021 Youth of the Year (Ke’Ziah Simpson) and Club Ambassador
(Jadin Baptist) winners.  Ke’Ziah has been the epitome of perseverance and showing that hard work pays off.  Jadin reminded us that we all have a voice and how important it is that we speak up and ensure our voices are heard to create positive and lasting change.  We are so proud of both of them and are honored to have them representing Boys & Girls Club of the Sandhills!

Whatever it takes...
Our youngest Club members created a pretty neat balloon tower in the STEM lab recently. They drew pictures of how it might look then got to work building it. How fun!

Great Futures Celebration
We hosted our 2021 Virtual Great Futures Celebration on the evening of February 18th, recognizing our 2021 Youth of the Year finalists, Club supporters and friends. Our finalists presented one of their 3 required essays for the panel of judges for the 2021 Youth of the Year award. We recognized our staff members, volunteer, and Board member of the year. And finally, we named our 2021 Youth of the Year, Ke'Ziah, and 2021 Club Ambassador, Jadin. We are so proud of these two!

Special thanks to Chef Mark Elliot and Elliotts on Linden for providing a delicious pick-up dinner for our VIP ticket holders. And a BIG THANK YOU to our sponsors: Sandhills Community College, Sport Clips, and Paul & Pat Rudovsky!

If you missed it or want to see it again, check it out on our website!

Sponsor A Child, Change A Life!

Many of our kids need financial assistance to cover the cost of Club membership. Your gift of $979.97 (or $82/month) sponsors one child for the entire school year. Without this help, members might not have access to:

Computers and High-Speed Internet – Because of disparities in the availability of technology, many kids are unable to do schoolwork at home and must rely on the Club.

Healthy Meals - Many parents are still out of work, leading to greater food insecurity. Oftentimes, the meals kids receive at the Club or at school are the only ones they have all day.

Encouragement, Sense of Purpose – Club kids receive the nurturing and support many so desperately need. Our trained youth development professionals offer educational assistance, formative guidance, and leadership skills necessary for kids to become productive, caring members of our community.

Our goal is to ensure 190 Club members are sponsored. We currently have 178 Club kids sponsored. If you have the desire to make a difference for a kid in Moore County, now is your chance: Sponsor A Child TODAY!
