CEO Corner

March marked 1 year since all of our lives changed. We adjusted and moved forward the best way we all knew how. Most importantly, our Club kids are resilient and have adjusted as well. After a year, we are SO THANKFUL to be able to see our members after school every day again!
Fallon Brewington
CEO Boys & Girls Club

Whatever it takes...
Club members continue to learn through fun (and colorful) experiments in the STEM Lab. We have also been having a lot of fun celebrating Boys & Girls Club Week this last week. Check out some of the fun in the photos below!

Great Futures Start Here!
Just before COVID-19 shut everything down last year, one of our Club members submitted an essay on a new invention she dreamt up to create a cleaner energy source. We were recently notified that she wrote the winning essay! This earned her a brand new laptop, which Mrs. Danielle presented to her a few weeks ago. Way to go, Deja!

Sponsor A Child, Change A Life!

Many of our kids need financial assistance to cover the cost of Club membership. Your gift of $979.97 (or $82/month) sponsors one child for the entire school year. Without this help, members might not have access to:

Computers and High-Speed Internet – Because of disparities in the availability of technology, many kids are unable to complete homework assignments at home and must rely on the Club.

Healthy Meals - Some parents are still out of work, leading to greater food insecurity. Oftentimes, the meals kids receive at the Club or at school are the only ones they have all day.

Encouragement, Sense of Purpose – Club kids receive the nurturing and support many so desperately need. Our trained youth development professionals offer educational assistance, formative guidance, and leadership skills necessary for kids to become productive, caring members of our community.

We have 190 Club members sponsored, but there are still kids who need us. If you have the desire to make a difference for a kid in Moore County, now is your chance: Sponsor A Child TODAY!

Events

Thank you to both Jersey Mike's locations (Aberdeen and Pinehurst/Taylortown) and everyone who stopped by to help our Club on Jersey Mike's Day of Giving onWednesday, March 31! Your support is a gift that helps us continue to provide a positive, productive place for kids in Moore County after school and throughout the summer.

Remember last year's Light Up National & Light Up Moore County events? They are returning this year! We cannot wait to see Moore County lit up again. Stay tuned for more information very soon.
Congratulations!
We are excited to share that our CEO, Fallon Brewington, has been named in The Pilot's 20 Under 40 Young Professionals publication. Congratulations, Fallon! And congratulations to all 20 of these outstanding individuals in our community!
