Fall is typically a time to slow down and reflect, but this year it is far from that for us here.  We are in high gear expanding with the relocation and opening of our two K-5 Facilities in Southern Pines and Pinehurst.  We will be able to serve more kids and I’m sure they’re all looking forward to having their own Clubs again.  In addition, our growing pre-teen and teen club members will finally have their own space here at the Baxter Teen Center (Former Southern Pines Unit). They will now get to enjoy this entire facility as their home away from home as they navigate their teen years.

Stay tuned for our next issues where you’ll get to hear directly from our Club Directors as they share about their experiences with their new facilities!

Daniel Roberts

When Daniel Roberts won the prestigious Youth of the Year honor at the Club in 2015, one of his dreams was to become a journalist.  Now, he produces news for WNCT-TV serving Eastern North Carolina. We are so proud of him!

Meet Ms. Katrina!

Ms. Katrina is the Unit Director for our Trinity Unit, which will soon be relocating to the Moore Montessori Community School campus.
Ms. Katrina has been with the Boys & Girls Club of the Sandhills since 2017. Her favorite thing about the Club is being the missing piece and being able to make a difference for our Club kids!
Sponsor A Child, Change a Life!
School bells are ringing again and we are eager to continue the learning, support, and fun that took place during summer camp as kids return to school. Many of our Club families need financial assistance to cover the cost of Club membership. YOUR gift of $1,179.97 (or $98/month) sponsors ONE child for the entire school year and summer. With this help, members gain access to:


  • Academic Support - At the Club, kids receive homework help and tutoring to put them on the path to excellence in the classroom and beyond!
  • Healthy Meals - Oftentimes, the meals kids receive at the Club - dinner during the school year; breakfast, lunch, and dinner during the summer - are the only hot meals they have all day.
  • Encouragement, Sense of Purpose - Club kids receive the nurturing and support that so many desperately need. Our trained youth development professionals offer educational assistance, formative guidance, and leadership skills necessary for kids to reach their full potential as productive, caring members of our community.

What's Happening at The Club
 
Some of our Club members helped prepare care packages for the troops at Maison Realty Group in Southern Pines recently. We are grateful for such partnerships, which provide opportunities for our young people realize their full potential as responsible, productive, and caring citizens through helping in the community.
 
We had a blast at our 6th Annual Moore Trivia Night in partnership with the Moore County Chamber of Commerce. A few of our former and current Club members helped throughout the evening. We appreciate all of our sponsors, participants and supporters of this event!
There is progress every day at our new Logan-Blake Unit! The space, both inside and out,  has been transformed to meet the needs of our Club members. We cannot wait to invite you to check it out. Keep an eye out for details of our grand openings at our Logan-Blake AND Trinity Units!
 
Thanks to our Community
THANK YOU to Carolyn Hallett and all Moore County Realtors who gathered new coats for our Club kids! Carolyn helped distribute the coats to our kids recently and they were so excited! Chilly temperatures are ahead and these coats will be like a big hug when it's cold out.
