Unit Director Corner

The Chefs of Logan Blake are continuing to be busy in the kitchen. Participants will get recipe books with everything they have made so far this year.
We were excited to hit the road for a field trip to Urban Air in Raleigh. Our members enjoyed the flip zone bumper cars, ropes course, climbing walls, battle beam, and obstacle course. It was a great experience for everyone!
We were also honored to host the Annual  Community Turkey Bowl at Armory field and give away free turkeys.
December is wide open with a stop at the Gracious Living Senior Center to give the residents handmade Christmas ornaments and spread some holiday cheer. Logan-Blake will also host a Santa's little helpers Christmas party on Friday, December 16th. Santa will make an appearance, and we'll have hot chocolate, make gingerbread houses, and have lots of FUN.
Just a friendly reminder that all our Units will be closed for the holidays from December 19th thru Tuesday, January 3rd. We hope everyone has a safe and joyous holiday season.

Kim and her husband Payson are proud parents of two wonderful kids. Having worked as a state and federal prosecutor, she firmly believes in the mission of the Boys & Girls Club of the Sandhills.
Kim enjoys baking with her kids and runs in her spare time.

     What's Happening at The Club
It was so wonderful to be able to bring back our Annual Thanksgiving Dinner. We couldn't have done it without the help of countless volunteers, Chef T and his staff at Pinehurst Resort, along with Michael Gantt and his staff at Wells Fargo Advisors, our staff, and our Board of Directors. We were so happy to see so many of our families!
Special Thanks to Harris Teeter Pinehurst.
This a beautiful time to walk around Southern Pines and enjoy the beautifully decorated trees. You'll see ours on the corner of Pennsylvania Ave. and N. Mechanic Street. The ornaments were created by the members of our SCC Unit. Miss Edith-Ann and Princess had blast decorating this beautiful tree. Special thanks to The Southern Pines Business Association and JD Contractors, LLC for sponsoring our tree.
Members at Logan-Blake enjoying a trip to Urban Air in Raleigh.
Members at the Trinity Unit enjoyed a lot of hands-on experiences on a field trip to Discovery Place.
The Pilot wins Moore Trivia! The last time they won was in 2016. Thanks to all our teams, and sponsors including Carolyn Hallett Real Estate, Sandhills Community College, C.F. Smith Property Group, Everything Pines Partners, Pinehurst Resort, Southern Pines Brewing Company, Rich Rushforth, Volunteers, Board Members, staff, and everyone that contributed to our silent auction, and those that bid to help us surpass our goal. A special thank you to Moore County Chamber of Commerce which has partnered with us to help make this event a success for 7 years!
Mark and Jordan Bare Present a check representing the George W. and Ruth R. Baxter Foundation. We appreciate their annual support that is helping us change lives!
Many of our Club families need financial assistance to cover the cost of Club membership. Your gift of $1,179.97 (or $98/month) sponsors ONE child for the entire school year and summer. With this help, members gain access to:
  • Academic Support - At the Club, kids receive homework help and tutoring to put them on the path to excellence in the classroom and beyond!
  • Healthy Meals - Oftentimes, the meals kids receive at the Club - dinner during the school year; breakfast, lunch, and dinner during the summer - are the only hot meals they have all day.
  • Encouragement, Sense of Purpose - Club kids receive the nurturing and support that so many desperately need. Our trained youth development professionals offer educational assistance, formative guidance, and leadership skills necessary for kids to reach their full potential as productive, caring members of our community.

You can help change a life by Sponsoring A Child! Monthly options are available, too!

A new school year means a new group of kids & teens walking through our doors.
We have 84 Club members who need sponsorship for the upcoming school year and summer.

Now through December 31st, your donation to the Boys & Girls Club of the Sandhills will ensure kids and families can continue to count on the Club for a safe place, a hot meal, learning support, and positive adult role models who will help them overcome the toughest times in the year ahead. Please make a gift today to support the life-changing services the Club provides.
