Dear Parents, Guardians, Club supporters, and Friends:

It’s important that you know the safety and protection of our Club members is the number one priority of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sandhills. We are doing everything possible to keep our Club members, staff and volunteers protected from the COVID-19 virus. Due to ongoing efforts to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus in our community, we have decided to remain closed until schools reopen.

During this time, we will continue our efforts to thoroughly clean, disinfect, restock sanitation supplies, establish COVID-19 safety policies and procedures, establish daily screening protocols for members, and setup means for social distancing in our Clubs to prevent possible exposure or spread of the virus. This extended closure ensures all kids, staff and volunteers are safe when the Club reopens. Should this date change if the need arises for additional precautions, we will update you with this information immediately as we fully understand the implications our extended closure has on both your child and family.

In the meantime, we are advising all our Club staff, families and youth continue to take preventative measures as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We will continue to update you as we know more about a possible reopen date for the Club. During our closure we will continue to provide our emergency food program based on demand and capacity in partnership with Moore County Schools. You can access this information here: https://sandhillsbgc.org/school-closure-food-delivery/.

We will be passing out activity packets during the food service program for anyone who wants them. Bring them back completed and we will have a special treat waiting for you!

Thank YOU to The House of Fish & Southern Pines Brewing Company
Danny Hayes, owner of The House of Fish, and Micah Niebauer, owner of Southern Pines Brewing Company teamed up to offer an oyster roast for front-line essential employees in our community. The two-part event was free. However, donations to the Boys & Girls Club of the Sandhills were encouraged in lieu of admission. The House of Fish played host on Tuesday, June 30th. So much fun was had that Southern Pines Brewing Company hosted a Part 2 on Wednesday, July 1st. We are grateful to live in such a supportive community!
