Over the past 8 months, we’ve been on the front lines providing for youth and families in Moore County. One thing that we have learned from this experience is that there is nothing more important than being heard, when you feel no one is listening. For our Club members and families as well as ALL youth and families in Moore County, we hear you loud and clear. While, we’re all thankful the return to school has gone extremely well, we know there are a lot of challenges families face regarding virtual learning. Over the last couple of weeks, BGCS stepped up to the plate to provide much needed support for remote learning for those who need us the most. Many of our kids need financial assistance to cover the cost of Club membership. Your gift of $1,179.97 (or $98/month) sponsors one child for the entire school year and summer. Without this help, members might not have access to:

• Computers and High-Speed Internet – Because of disparities in the availability of technology, many kids are unable to do schoolwork at home and must rely on the Club.

• Healthy Meals - Many parents are still out of work, leading to greater food insecurity. Oftentimes, the meals kids receive at the Club are the only ones they have all day.

• Encouragement, Sense of Purpose – Club kids receive the nurturing and support many so desperately need. Our trained youth development professionals offer educational assistance, formative guidance, and leadership skills necessary for kids to become productive, caring members of our community.

The 14th Annual Reindeer Fun Run is going virtual this year! Join in the fun by walking or running in Aberdeen, Southern Pines, Pinehurst, or ANYWHERE in the world anytime between December 1st and December 14th! Some of our Club members will be completing their 5K this week!

We are SO thankful for the Reindeer Fun Run Committee, volunteers, runners, and sponsors for committing to keeping one of our favorite holiday traditions going in 2020! This event is our single largest fundraisers, helping us continue to provide for the kids and families in our community who need us most. We hope YOU will still participate this year!

Our Second Annual Gifting Great Futures Day Phone-A-Thon will be Friday, December 11th! Our Board of Directors, Staff, and Club members will be making phone calls throughout the day. Be sure to MARK YOUR CALENDARS now so that you can help us raise much-needed funds that will enable us to continue to open doors to great futures for youth in Moore County.
